More than Hero, Heart of Philippines
When we think of the Philippines, one name immediately comes to mind, Dr. Jose Rizal. But he is more than just a face on our bills and monuments. Rizal represents the heart and spirit of the Filipino people, our courage, our love for freedom, and our hope for a better future.
Rizal was a remarkable man. He was a writer, a doctor, an artist, and a thinker. But what truly made him special was his love for his country. Through his books, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, he showed the struggles of Filipinos under Spanish rule. He didn’t fight with weapons, he fought with words, ideas, and knowledge. He wanted people to wake up, to think, and to stand for what is right.
What I admire most about Rizal is how he believed in change through education and courage, not violence. He believed that learning, speaking up, and thinking critically could help the country move forward. Even when it was dangerous, he never stopped standing for justice. In the end, he gave his life for the freedom of the Filipino people. That sacrifice is what makes him a true hero.
Even today, Rizal’s life continues to inspire us. He reminds us to value education, to be brave, and to love our country. Being Filipino means carrying his spirit in our own lives, speaking up, standing for what is right, and doing our part to help our nation grow.
Jose Rizal is not just a hero in history books. He is a reminder of who we are as Filipinos, and who we can become.

indeed Jose Rizal is more than a hero, but he's legacy will last forever! Good one!
